After President Donald Trump tweeted on his profile on Twitter, about a “which hunt” against him, One of his attorneys went on live television and on everyone’s surprise said that the president is not under investigation.
Namely, Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump’s team of attorneys, said for NBC News’ “Meet The Press” this : “Let me be clear here…The president is not and has not been under investigation for obstruction.”
This statement came shortly after President Trump shared this tweet on his account, last summer : “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt.”

But according to Sekulow’s explanation at the time, Trump wasn’t talking about a real investigation in the message, but instead a news report that talked about one.
The President’s attorney said, “The tweet from the president was in response to the five anonymous sources purportedly leaking information to the Washington Post,” referring to a report from the Post which suggested that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia and thus the Russian interference in the election, also included a probe into an alleged attempt of Trump to obstruct justice.
Jay Sekulow clarified that the President was only “responding to what he’s seeing in the media in a way in which he thinks is appropriate to talk to those people that put him in office.”
The lawyer also said that “He’s not afraid of the investigation — there is no investigation.”Adding, “there is not an investigation of the President of the United States, period.”
